About Ginny Koppenhol*** ABOUT GINNY KOPPENHOL *** Skiddle.com/Connected DJs Resident DJ of the Year 2010/11 Ginny started DJing in 2003 after a trip to Ibiza. She wanted to be able to give other people that feeling that she gets as a clubber...the excitement, the energy, the fun!! When she got home, she bought a set of cheap belt-drive turntables, and was hooked. After teaching herself the basics, Ginny enrolled on a DJ course at the Manchester MIDI School which gave her the confidence she needed to play in public. Ginny started by playing in local bars, including a year long residency at Sphere Wine bar in Kendal. She soon progressed onto playing in nightclubs, and also planned and promoted house night 'Aural Pleasure' with Gemma Furbank (which raised over £700 for Breast Cancer Care) in February 2009. Ginny has played sets at the Orange Corner in Ibiza for two years running - returning to the Island that made her wanna get out there and DJ in the first place! DJing highlights include; warming up for Yousef at a pre-Creamfields party in the Bench Store, Liverpool (August 09) and playing alongside acts such as Kissy Sell Out and the Scratch Perverts at 'Lancaster Loves...09'. Ginny has also won two exciting competitions in 2010. The first is a remix competition in association with www.trackitdown.net and Prime Loops, seeing her track "Break the Habit" win from hundreds of entries, bagging her tons of production software and music vouchers - See the write up here. Only a month after this, Ginny got through to the final of the "Connected DJs/Skiddle Resident DJ of the Year" competition, where she played a set at the Wickerman Festival in Scotland. Ginny won the title at the festival, seeing her win some amazing sessions with Ant Brooks, Sonny Wharton, and Connected DJs (DJ Agency). Ginny has played various high profile gigs including; • The Warehouse Project, Manchester • The Wickerman Festival, Scotland • Stylus presents....Sonny Wharton, Lancaster • Killertrax Event, Leeds • Lancaster Loves...High Contrast • Ravenstonedale presents...The Organic DJs, Cumbria • Fallback Productions presents...i Call Shotgun & Ginny Koppenhol Ginny's tracks are also getting plenty of attention, and can be found at www.soundcloud.com/ginnykoppenhol.
